Summary edit

Description
English: Trees: the Problem and the Solution. "Malvern", we are told, means "Bare Hill". Any trees on the hills were soon removed by early man and grazing animals had kept young shoots under control. Recently, in the last 30 years, out of control dogs have persuaded the commoners to remove their animals from the hills. The result has been a steady increase in trees creeping up the hillsides. The Malvern Hills Conservators have re-introduced sheep to stem the tide. Looking at Broad Down from the defences of the iron-age hill fort: British Camp.
