Description
English: Sheep with three heads (tricephalus). Born in Blandy, France, in 1577. The central head was the largest, and when one bleated the others did too. Jean Bellanger, a surgeon from nearby Melun, saw the animal himself and had a drawing of it made which he sent to Ambrose Pare, who republished it here.
Français : Mouton à trois têtes (tricephalus). Né à Blandy, France, en 1577. La tête centrale était la plus grosse, et quand l'une bêlait les autres aussi. Jean Bellanger, chirurgien de la ville voisine de Melun, a vu lui-même l'animal et en a fait faire un dessin qu'il a envoyé à Ambroise Paré, qui l'a republié ici.
