Deutsch: Pacellikreuz (1957) erbaut von Willi Hahn auf dem Vorplatz der Benediktinerabtei St. Matthias, Trier. Ref.1: Die Wappen von St. Matthias (Nr. 1860)In den Jahren (1948–1953) war der Bildhauer Willi Hahn (1920-1995) maßgeblich an der Restaurierung des Kreuzgangs und des Kapitelsaals der Abtei St. Matthias beteiligt, bevor er 1957 das sogenannte Pacelli-Kreuz auf dem Vorplatz der Sankt-Matthias-Basilika schuf. Im Jahr 1957 erinnerte die Stadt Trier an den 30 Jahre zuvor erfolgten Besuch des damaligen Apostolischen Nuntius Eugenio Pacelli (1876–1958), des späteren Papstes Pius XII., indem sie einen Teil der Moselstraße in Pacelliufer umbenannte. Im gleichen Jahr wurde das von Willi Hahn geschaffene Pacelli-Kreuz zu Ehren des Papstes auf dem Freihof vor der Kirche eingeweiht. Im Januar 1958 reiste eine Delegation aus Trier nach Rom um dem Papst eine Urkunde über die Errichtung des Pacelli-Kreuzes und die Umbenennung des Matthias-Ufers in Pacelli-Ufer zu überreichen. Im Rahmen der Umgestaltung des Vorplatzes 1997 wurde das Pacelli-Kreuz in einen Brunnen integriert, der von dem Mayener Bildhauer Franz Moog (1926-2012) gestaltet wurde.
