English: following explanation is indicated :
Sagamino Baseline North corner point / First-class Triangulation Station Shimomizo Village In carrying out a modern geodetic survey of Japan, this baseline place was installed first in Japan in Meiji 15. The map of our country was made on the basis of the 5209.9697 m length between south and the north both end point. Recently, it is the important survey reference point for which we use for earthquake prediction etc. by finding change of this length by precise repetition survey.
