To the editor of The Times-Democrat:

Complaints have already been made through the columns of your paper of the nuisance of the so-called trolley parties. I think there are some rights which the whole community on the lines of the electric cars are entitled to. Almost every night these "parties" travel through our streets, often the platform of the car loaded with beer, and the occupants singing screeching and yelling, often accompanied with a hand organ, negro field band or a fiend tooting a cornet, disturbing the sick and awakening people from their sleep with their noise, sometimes until 2 o'clock a.m.
I am not opposed to trolley parties conducted in a respectable manner, but I think an ordinance should be passed prohibiting these "parties" from disturbing the peace at night. By publishing this you will confer a favor upon many.
