DescriptionTroy native defends Bagram Air Field 111202-F-QW942-069.jpg |
English: Airman 1st Class Alexander Cairy is currently deployed to Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan and is a member of the 455th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron.
Back home, he’s a member of the Illinois Air National Guard and is assigned to the 126th Air Refueling Wing on Scott AFB, Ill. His hometown is Troy, Illinois. One of Cairy’s duties while deployed to Bagram is to X-ray each civilian pedestrian that enters through his gate ensuring they have no weapons, drugs, or any other items that could potentially pose a threat to the personnel assigned to Bagram. On a given day, that can be as many as 5,000 people that pass through his work station.
