Summary edit

Description Fire test furnace to test smoke density as per DIN 4102. This set-up was used to test a spray fireproofing plaster with organic lightweight aggregate (polystyrene beads) at Technische Universität Braunschweig, iBMB, Germany. Since the polystyrene beads disqualified the material from the coveted A1 rating, a smoke density test was performed to qualify the material for A2 status, which is still OK for use in noncombustible construction in Germany.
