| Description |
English: Tunbridge Wells Central Station A six car class 203 diesel electric multiple unit (number 1037) stands in the down platform with a service for Hastings from Charing Cross. These units, along with sister classes 201 and 202, were built with a narrow body profile because several tunnels along the route had restricted clearance. The rails of the up line on the right of the photo are rusted as that track was closed for engineering works through Grove Tunnel to the south of the station. The works were the start of an upgrade of the Hastings route which would see these units finally displaced to other duties and withdrawn from service. |
