DescriptionTwijnmolen (1789) Industriemuseum Gent 18-11-2019 14-10-40.jpg |
Collectie Industriemuseum.
English: This twining mill could hold 47 spools, for making 47 twisted yarns. One worker could turn the mill, otherwise 47 men would be needed to do the same work. Once connected to a waterwheel it no longer required manpower. Recognized as a Flemish masterpiece, this item dating back to 1789 is probably the oldest existing flax twining mill in the world. Museum of Industry Collection.
