DescriptionTwo Tanashin TN-21 cassette transports on a wooden breadboard (BL7C0121) (cropped).jpg |
English: Maker Faire Berlin 2018, FEZ Wuhlheide. Two Tanashin TN-21 tape transports on a wooden "breadboard". The TN-21 was, perhaps, the most-produced cassette transport, made from 1987 to 2000. In total, the company produced 146,979,000 units. This is the ultimate low-cost, low fidelity, end-of-the-line transport that powered the last generation of boomboxes. Clones and copies of the TN-21 are still made in China, powering the current crop of novelty cassette machines. The Fuji DRII cassette in the left transport, is almost certainly an OEM production by SKC (Korea). |
