Swedish immigrants Alfred and Alberta Kristoferson moved to Washington in the late 1800s to start a dairy. By the early 1900s, Son August Kristoferson soon took the reins of the dairy business after his father's death in 1914. Kristoferson's Dairy was originally located on Fifth Avenue South but soon moved to 1218 First Avenue South where it stayed until moving to Rainier Avenue around 1920.
