Summary edit

Description
English: Ty'n Llan, Aberdaron. Every decent "llan" has its "ty'n llan" (Welsh for "house within the religious enclosure). The "ty'n llan" traditionally sold beer and on Sunday morning after Matins there was much drinking and merrymaking in which the old vicars played a lively role. That was before the Calvinistic descendants of the Cromwellian Puritans imposed the Welsh Sabbath on a harmless peasantry. In some places the "ty'n llan' has survived as a pub e.g. at Nant Peris 268515
