TANKS FOR STORING LIQUID NITROGEN, USED TO COOL TEVATRON MAGNETS.

THE CRYOGENIC COOLING SYSTEMS OF THE TEVATRON ACCELERATOR PROVIDES SUPER COLD LIQUID HELIUM TO COOL OFF THE TEVATRON'S SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNETS. THE COILS OF THE MAGNETS, WHICH BEND AND FOCUS THE PARTICLE BEAM, ARE MAINTAINED IN A SUPERCONDUCTING STATE.
