Description
English: Despite two recent suicide bombings on a new police station here, Iraqi police in Husaybah, Iraq, say they are undeterred in their duties and are ready to work on their own in this Iraq-Syria border town. Now, just days after the second bombing, the police officers continue to show up for work and are receiving cooperation from the locals every day a sign of progress towards stability in the region, according to the Marines of 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment. Here, 2nd Lt. Chris J. Jamison, 24, from North Great River, N.Y., briefs his squad leaders before conducting a foot patrol through the streets of Husaybah with Iraqi police just a few days before the first attack on the police station. Jamison is a platoon commander with the battalion's Company B.
