Description
English: U.S. Marine 2nd Lt. Colin M. Browning, 24, a native Thief River Falls, Minn., and a range safety officer with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, gathers the Iraqi children around him to receive backpacks filled with school supplies while in Fallujah, Iraq, Feb. 5. U.S. Marines, Sailors and Soldiers with, 3/5 conducted one of the largest humanitarian assistance efforts for the citizens of Fallujah during a civil military operation, handing out more than $15,000 worth of donated supplies. The CMO was designed to allow the military to talk to the people of Fallujah and focused on assessing the damages to the six major schools in the city. The operation was the first of its kind since the Iraqi people returned to their homes in early January.
