English: Maj. Justin Anderson, right, Marine Barracks Washington Headquarters and Service Company commanding officer, and Lance Cpl. Brian Bell, Marine Corps body bearer, salute the grave marker of "the Grand Old Man of the Marine Corps" Brig Gen. Archibald Henderson after laying a ceremonial wreath at his grave for the 235th birthday of the Corps, Nov. 10, 2010. Henderson remains the longest serving commandant the Corps has ever seen. Barracks Marines spent the morning honoring those previous commandants whose graves reside in the metropolitan area. |
