Description
English: Washington, D.C.-General Michael W. Hagee, the 33rd commandant of the Marine Corps, stands amongst a detachment of Marines and Sailors of the Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF) in the U.S. Capitol a few hours before President George W. Bush delivered the State of the Union Address. The Force was mobilized to deter or reduce the effects of a chemical or biological threat, accidental or terrorist, on the Capitol Hill campus during the historical speech. During his speech to the country, President Bush acknowledged the fearless nature of servicemembers. "Our men and women in uniform are making sacrifices--and showing a sense of duty stronger than all fear," said Bush.
