English: An Iraqi man teaches his students in a school that was recently re-built by Iraqi contractors who were tasked to complete the project by the civil affairs detachment assigned to 5th Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 6, who was been improving life throughout the Habbaniyah area during their year long deployment to Iraq. One of the main stays of team four is their aggressive school restoration and building programs they have started in the local area. Schools enhance the neighborhoods, said 1st Lt. Curtis L. Thomas, the officer in charge of the civil affairs team. Without schools there is no education for the youth and now, with the progress in the area, they dont have to fear that their schools will be shot or blown up. It gives them hope for the future and gives them back services that they have not had in a long time. |
