Description
English: The U.S. Navy seaplane tender USS Langley (AV-3) being abandoned after receiving crippling damage from Japanese bombs, south of Java, on 27 February 1942. The destroyer USS Edsall (DD-219) is standing by off Langley's port side. The photo was taken from USS Whipple (DD-217). Edsall was sunk on 1 March with all hands lost.
