Description
English: The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Leary (DD-879) receives a refueling hose to her forward trunk from the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CVA-67) near Cuba, in November 1968. To the left is the tail of a McDonnell F-4B-10-MC Phantom II (BuNo 149431) of Fighter Squadron 14 (VF-14) "Tophatters". VF-14 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 1 (CVW-1) aboard the JFK for her shakedown cruise to the Caribbean Sea from 2 November to 16 December 1968.
