English: The U.S. Navy submarine tender USS Nereus (AS-17) moored in harbour, with several submarines alongside. The inboard four submarines are (from left to right): USS Remora (SS-487), USS Catfish (SS-339), USS Diodon (SS-349) and USS Aspro (SS-309).
This photograph accompanied a press release, dated 13 February 1959, announcing plans for Nereus to visit San Francisco, California (USA), beginning 20 February 1959.
