English: 150501-N-XG464-224 GULF OF ADEN - Capt. Christopher Brunett, from Buffalo, N.Y., and former commanding officer of the amphibious transport dock ship USS New York, salutes rainbow side boys in preparation for departure. New York is a part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
