Description The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Oriskany (CVA-34) in 1974. Oriskany was deployed to the Western Pacific from 18 October 1973 to 5 June 1974. Note that her embarked Carrier Air Wing 19 (CVW-19) was the only wing on an Essex-class carrier that did not have at least one squadron equipped with the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk. Since 1970, her attack squadrons flew the LTV A-7 Corsair II.
