English: The U.S. Navy heavy cruiser USS Pensacola (CA-24) in Espiritu Santo Harbor, New Hebrides, showing damaged stern and portside caused by a torpedo from a Japanese destroyer during the Battle of Tassafaronga, 30 November 1942. Seven officers and 118 men died from this attack. The reapir ship USS Vestal (AR-4) is alongside.
