Description |
English: The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Phelps (DD-360) off the Charleston Navy Yard, South Carolina (USA), about November 1944. She is painted in camouflage Measure 32, Design 3D. The ships is passing under the John P. Grace Memorial Bridge. Phelps arrived from the Pacific theater at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, South Carolina (USA), for a major refit on 2 August 1944. During the three-months refit, she received a new bridge with a Mk 37 gun director, three new 127 mm/38 dual-purpose turrets and a 40 mm quadruple mount in front of the bridge. |
