Description The U.S. Navy submarine USS Redfin (SSR-272) receiving an additional hull section at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. In April 1951, she was towed to Philadelphia for conversion to a radar picket submarine. Redesignated SSR-272, she was recommissioned on 9 January 1953.
