Description The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Reid (DD-369) at Dutch Harbor, Alaska, on 6 September 1942, with Japanese prisoners of war (POWs) on board, survivors from the Japanese submarine RO-61, sunk on 31 August 1942 by Reid and planes from Patrol Squadron 43 (VP-43). The destroyer in background may be USS King (DD-242).
