Summary edit

Description
English: The U.S. Navy escort carrier USS Sicily (CVE-118) at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia (USA), in July 1948. Sicily loaded 48 Curtiss SB2C-5 Helldivers for the Hellenic Air Force (42 flyable, 6 for ground instruction). She left Norfolk on 31 July and delivered the planes to Piraeus, Greece. Most of the planes were catapulted from the carrier and flown ashore by crews from the Sicily due to unusally bad weather and limited port facilities.
