Summary edit
DescriptionUSS Stewart (DD-224) being sunk as target01 1946.jpg |
The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Stewart (DD-224) being sunk as a target off California on 24 May 1946. Three aircraft, two Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat and a Vought F4U Corsair, attack her with rockets. Their steep angle of approach so close to the surface, and close spacing between them, strongly indicates that this is a composite photograph. |
