Description The U.S. Navy frigate USS Trippe (DE-1075) underway off Newport, Rhode Island (USA), 22 December 1971. Note the Mark 25 Basic Point Defense Missile System (BPDMS) launcher on her after deck, and the related fire control director atop her helicopter hangar. She was the first destroyer-type ship to be fitted with this system.
