Description
English: 020209-N-9769P-032 At sea aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) Feb. 9, 2002 -- Photographer's Mate Airman Robert Atkins from Manteca, CA, configures one of three cameras on the Tactical Air Reconnaissance Pod System (TARPS). TARPS pods are flown on the underside of F-14 "Tomcats" and play a key role in strike missions. The "Checkmates" of Fighter Squadron Two One One (VF-211) and the rest of Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9) are deployed and conducting missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
