Description
English: At sea aboard USS George Washington (CVN 73) Nov. 26, 2002 -- Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Joseph M. Zuniga from Newark, N.J., and Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Jacob Demerly from Chicago, Ill., give the final "thumbs up" to signal an aircraft is ready for launch from one of four steam driven catapults on the ship’s flight deck. Washington is homeported in Norfolk, Va., and is nearing the end of a regularly scheduled deployment in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Southern Watch.
