English: The Arabian Gulf (Mar. 31, 2003) -- An F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the “Black Aces” of Strike Fighter Squadron Forty-One (VFA-41) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) comes in for a landing on the flight deck of aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Nimitz is lending four of her Air Wing’s Super Hornets to the Lincoln to provide for a mix of fighter/tanker capabilities to support coalition forces on the ground in Iraq. Lincoln and Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) are currently conducting combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
