English: Camp Patriot, Kuwait (April 3, 2003) -- From left, the Honorable Richard H. Jones, U.S. Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, listens while Lt. Cmdr. Timothy Cowan, Operations Officer for Amphibious Construction Battalion Two (ACB-2), describes the process and function of the Elevated Causeway System (ELCAS) modular. The ELCAS, a joint effort of Amphibious Construction Battalion Seabees from the East and West coasts, will serve as an additional tool in the ongoing Combined Joint Logistics Over the Shore (CJLOTS) activities. CJLOTS allows the offload of supplies, equipment and ordnance from Army and Navy prepositioning ships, to reach the troops in a timelier manner. The Seabees are deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
