English: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (May 22, 2003) – Members of the 93rd Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team (WMD CST) scan a survey team member for nerve or blister agents with chemical detection equipment during a casualty evacuation drill. The drill was part of a weapons of mass destruction exercise held on Ford Island where the scenario was an aerial chemical attack by terrorists against Pearl Harbor ships. The WMD-CST is a active-duty Hawaii Army and Air National Guard unit composed of a command, operations, communications, administration, medical and survey teams. Within four hours of notification, WMD-CST can deploy to a suspected incident in support of a local Incident Commander to assess the situation, advise civilian authorities on appropriate action, and facilitate request for assistance to expedite arrival of additional state and federal assets to help save lives, prevent human suffering and mitigate great property damage during a crisis.
