English: Onslow Bay, N.C. (June 28, 2004) – Seaman Apprentice Johanna Cochrane directs a U.S. Marine Corps Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) during a off load of the Second Marine Expeditionary Brigade (2D MEB) in Onslow Bay, N.C., aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3). Kearsarge is on its way home from a successful deployment, participating in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and provided support to the President of the United States during his summits with the Arab leaders in Egypt and Jordan. At sea aboard USS KEARSARGE (LHD-3) SA Johanna Cochrane directs a Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) during the off load of the Second Marine Expeditionary Brigade (2D MEB) in Onslow Bay, N.C. KEARSARGE is on its way home from a successful deployment, having steamed more than 33,000 miles. The multi-purpose amphibious assault ship deployed January 12, 2003, with only 72 hours notice, and participated in Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, provided support to the President of the United States during his summits with Arab leaders in Egypt and Jordan, and most recently, from participation in Operation Shining Express.
