Description
English: San Diego, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2003) -- USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) is moored pier side under a cloud of ash and haze at Naval Air Station North Island. The aircraft carrier left port on Sunday, October 26, to conduct training exercises in the Southern California operating area. Stennis was returned to port Wednesday morning to respond to family needs and assess the impact of San Diego County fires. U.S. Navy photo by Lt. Jim Bunnell. (RELEASED)
