English: San Diego (Mar. 9, 2004) - Damage Controlman 3rd Class Jonathan Genica assigned to the guided missile frigate USS Jarrett (FFG 33) receives a warm welcome from a family member as he returns home today following a month deployment in support of the global war on terrorism. Jarrrett is part of Expeditionary Strike Group One (ESG-1) that includes the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5), the amphibious transport dock USS Ogden (LPD 5), the guided missile destroyer USS Decatur (DDG 73) and the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42). ESG-1 is capable of operating in shallow, narrow waterways or the open ocean, day and night, in all weather conditions in support of marine or joint forces operating near-shore or deep inland.
