Description
English: Atlantic Coast (Apr. 9, 2004) - Sailors and Marines participate in an evening Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walk-down on the flight deck of USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). This task is performed each day before flight operations to ensure that that the flight deck is clear of all foreign objects, which could be ingested by jet aircraft, damaging expensive equipment or placing flight deck personnel in danger. Truman is currently undergoing a Tailored Ship's Training Availability (TSTA) exercise off the Atlantic coast. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 2nd Class John L. Beeman. (RELEASED)
