English: Arabian Gulf (July 7, 2004) - Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Summer Wren from Boonsboro, Md., assigned to Beach Master Unit 2 signals a Landing Cushion Air Craft (LCAC) to come ashore, while transferring personnel and equipment from the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3). Kearsarge is surge deployed to transport elements of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the Central Command Area of Responsibility in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), and the Global War on Terrorism.
