English: At sea aboard USS Monsoon (PC 4) July 28, 2004 – A Sailor aboard the coastal patrol ship USS Monsoon (PC 4) fires an M4 assault rifle as part of a demonstration for a group of Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Midshipmen. The NROTC midshipmen were recently in San Diego participating in the annual summer Career Orientation and Training for Midshipmen (CORTRAMID) program. Midshipmen were exposed to surface, submarine and aviation warfare specialties. They also were introduced and given instruction on Marine Corps amphibious warfare. The program helps each Midshipman decide what field he or she may want to apply for upon graduation from college. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer’s Mate 1st Class Daniel N. Woods (RELEASED) |
