Monomoy is among several U.S. Navy, Coast Guard and coalition ships that share the responsibilities of patrolling and safeguarding the waters near the Khawr AL Amaya Oil Terminal (KAAOT) and the Al Basrah Oil Terminal (ABOT) in the Arabian Gulf.
