Description
English: Caribbean Sea (Feb. 4, 2005) – A Landing Craft Utility (LCU) maneuvers into position to enter into the well deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Saipan (LHA 2). The LCU is assigned to Assault Craft Unit Two (ACU-2), currently embarked aboard Saipan. Saipan is currently deployed in support of New Horizons, the humanitarian assistance efforts in Haiti. As part of New Horizons, U.S. forces will build schoolhouses, drill wells and provide medical attention to the people of Haiti. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 3rd Class Mark A.
