Description
English: Persian Gulf (Mar. 27, 2005) - A flight deck director signals to the aircrew of an S-3B Viking, assigned to the "Screwbirds" of Sea Control Squadron Three Three (VS-33), in preparation for launch from USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in the Persian Gulf. Carl Vinson will end its deployment with a homeport shift to Norfolk, Va., and will conduct a three-year refuel and complex overhaul.
