Description
English: Wilmington, N.C. (Apr. 16, 2005) – A U.S. Marine Corps C-130 Hercules "Fat Albert," assigned to the U.S. Navy “Blue Angels” flight demonstration team, uses Jet Assisted Take Off (JATO) bottles during takeoff at the 2005 Coastal Carolina Air Show in Wilmington, N.C. Fat Albert kicks-off each show with an assisted takeoff, demonstrating the C-130’s ability to get airborne in minimal time and distance, simulating conditions in hostile environments and on short, unprepared runways. The Blue Angels fly the F/A-18A Hornet, performing approximately 30 maneuvers during the aerial demonstration lasting over an hour. This year's air show showcased civilian and military aircraft from the Nation's armed forces, which provided many flight demonstrations and static displays.
