English: Kauai, Hawaii (June 28, 2005) - The stern of the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) sinks into the waters of the Pacific Ocean as the well deck opens to conduct amphibious operations. Sailors and Marines assigned to Peleliu are currently conducting amphibious training on the beaches of Pacific Missile Range Facility, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
