English: Avondale, La. (Aug. 12, 2005) - Raytheon and Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding managers show Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Mullen the engineering systems control station aboard Pre-Commissioning Unit New Orleans (LPD 18), currently being built at the Northrop Grumman Ship Systems' Shipyard in Avondale, La. New Orleans will be the second amphibious transport dock ship built and one of twelve San Antonio-class ships that will be used to support amphibious assault, special ops, or expeditionary warfare missions through the first half of the century.
