Description
English: Mobile, Ala. (Sept. 8, 2005) – U.S. Navy divers, assigned to the rescue and salvage ship USS Grapple (ARS 53), remove a sunken channel marker from a commercial port in Mobile, Ala., as part of the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Grapple is currently on stand-by to remove large debris from harbors and ports along the Gulf Coast. The Navy's involvement in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
