Description
English: Mayport, Fla. (Sept. 8, 2006) - Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman Torsak Vimoktayon holds his six-month old son upon his return to Mayport. Vimoktayon is stationed aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) which is returning after participating in exercises during the UNITAS Pacific Phase exercise. UNITAS is an annual exercise in the South American region. This year's Pacific phase, hosted by Chile, includes navies from seven countries including Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Spain and the United States. The exercise is designed to train each Navy in a variety of maritime scenarios, with each operating as a component of the multinational force.
