English: LEGASPI, Philippines (June 27, 2007) - Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Jason McKnight lectures sailors and soldiers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines on electronic news gathering techniques during a photography seminar at Naval Forces Southern Luzon Command. The outreach effort strengthened ties with the Filipino military in support of the Pacific Partnership mission. This mission highlights the varied capabilities of the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5), by bringing aid to areas in Southeast Asia and Oceania. Peleliu robust medical, construction, and engineering assets have been working hand in hand with host country personnel to continue building relationships in areas vital to stability in the region.
